Just Dogs Live...

Wow what a weekend! It was Pippa first weekend at Grade 5 and I was excited to see how well she'd do. She only needed a few more points for her Gold Agility Warrant so that was my aim for the weekend. Inca was also back after her break while she had her season but the aim there was to keep her happy. I wanted to give her a complete break while she was in season in the hope that she came back keener (and less hormonal).

Pippa was certainly on form. On Friday she came 2nd in G5 jumping and then 1st in G5 Agility. Saturday she got 2nd in agility and won the jumping. Sunday she came 2nd in the agility, won the jumping and got e'd in the steeplechase (i think she was still half asleep).

Inca came back happy and much more level headed. She was a bit too keen in her first run so I concentrated on making she she got it right. She had a clear in agility on Friday, clear in the jumping on Saturday and then 12th in the G3 Jumping on Sunday and got a 16th in the 1-7 Steeplechase. Sadly we left before her final run on Sunday as there were still loads of dogs left to run.

Diesel took part in a couple flyball demos on Saturday. We did some box work training and then a couple full runs. He took it all in his stride.

Showing wise, Diesel managed to get V.H.C(5th) in Junior (11, 1) despite being a complete fidget. I'm sure he would have done better had he *stood still*. Inca sadly didn't get anywhere in limit (that I nearly missed!) The judge FLEW through the judging - they started judging at 9.30 and finished limit bitch just after 1pm! I despise paying champ show entry prices for judges that barely go over the dogs. She moved them once round together, had a quick look at bite and feel down the back and then moved them out and back in a straight line.

I'm over the moon with Pippas results this weekend, although it does mean our first G6 show is the KC Festival (thanks pip!). I'm also in two minds whether to do JDA after all or to stay on and enter POD for the UKA Nationals.

We also took the dogs for a run at Ferry Meadows late Saturday afternoon after the show. I needed to bath the collies anyway so thought they might as well have some fun and get dirtier first ;)
